The president of the Gambia, Adama Barrow will be returning to his home country on Thursday.
Mr. Barrow has been residing in neighboring Senegal where he was inaugurated after the ex-president, Yahya Jammeh refused to hand over power peacefully.
A senior aide to the new president, Amie Bojang told Reuters that Mr. Barrow will be leaving Senegal on Thursday and will arrive “in Banjul at around 4pm”.

The political crisis led to some 76,000 people fleeing the Gambia to Senegal, according to the UN refugee agency UNHCR. But the agency said about 8,000 had returned home after Mr. Jammeh went into exile.
Meanwhile the government of Equatorial Guinea has confirmed that it is hosting the former Gambian leader.
Information Minister Eugenio Nse Obiang in a statement to the media gave no further details.
Reuters reported that many Gambians are angry that Mr. Jammeh fled into exile under a luxurious package without trial.
A state of emergency imposed by Mr. Jammeh has now been revoked.
