An appeal’s court in Egypt has on Tuesday ruled overturning the life sentence handed down to former President Mohammed Morsi.
The Court has however ordered that Mr. Morsi be retried on other charges. These charges include conspiring to commit terrorist acts with foreign organisations.
The death sentence of the former Egyptian President has already been over turned by an Appeals court last week.
The court in that ruling also ordered that five co-defendants, including the supreme guide of the now outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, Mohamed Badie, be retried.
Mr. Morsi was elected president in 2012, but ousted by the military after street protests against his rule in 2013.
Morsi was sentenced to life in prison for terrorism offences separately. His death sentences were approved this year by Egypt’s highest religious authority.
