Officials in Ghana have raised alert over the outbreak of Cholera in parts of the country.
Local media Starrfmonline.com is reporting that the Ministry of Health in Ghana has confirmed 157 cholera cases in the Central part of the country.
The director of public health in Ghana, Dr. Badu Sarkodie told journalists in Accra that despite the high cases being recorded, no deaths have been confirmed.
The current outbreak was first reported on October 21, 2016. Officials have activated surveillance schemes to deal with cases.
Starrfmonline.com in Ghana reports that the Cape Coast town in the central region of the country was one of the areas worst hit by the disease in 2014 with 2,182 cholera cases and over 20 deaths.
