Ivorian international Wilfried Bony was on target as his side Stoke City beat Swansea City at home in the last fixture for week 9 fixtures of the Premier League (PL). Stoke won the game by three goals to one.

Bony was on target in the 3rd and 73rd minute of the game. The other Stoke goal came through another African player, Egyptian Ramadan Sobhi, whiles Swansea’s goal in the 8th minutes was through a Wayne Routledge header.

The on-loan player joined Stoke from Manchester City on the last day of transfer deadline when Pep Guardiola told him he was not part of his plans.

Bony cost City £25m ($32m) in 2015, when he joined on a four-and-a-half-year contract. Swansea was the side he left to join Man City but he was back to haunt his former employers with his efforts on the night.

He was substituted by coach Mark Hughes five minutes after his second goal. The win lifts Stoke to 12th position on the PL log, level with champions Leicester City who also have 12 points. Swansea on the other hand remain second from bottom with five points.
