Kenyans have reacted angrily to a reported theft of items donated for the fight against COVID -19.
The items include Personal Protective Equipment (PPP), thermometer guns and masks valued at $2m.
They disappeared shortly after arrival in the East African country from China.
An investigation by local TV station KTN News revealed how a private company working with government officials and Chinese businessmen in Kenya laid claim to the donation when it arrived in the country.
It has also been revealed that the company donated part of the stolen supplies to other Kenyan government ministries.
The company has reportedly justified its actions, indicating that the items were part of the donations from Chinese tycoon Jack Ma.
Police in Kenya have taken over the investigations into the matter.
The Kenyan government has received donations worth millions of dollars since the country recorded its first case of COVID-19 to help fight the pandemic.
But the distribution of the donations has been called into questions following widespread shortages of PPEs.
Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe has vowed to bring to book some officials of at the ministry who have diverted the items.
