An American missionary from Lancaster County, in Pennsylvania on Monday pleaded guilty to four counts of engaging in illicit sexual conduct in Kenya.
According to prosecutors, Gregory Dow, 61, in 2008 traveled to Kenya to operate an orphanage called the Dow Family Children’s Home.
He run the orphanage with his wife but Dow was accused of sexually abusing four minor girls on multiple occasions, between October 2013 and September 2017.
A case was brought against him as part of an American nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Project Safe Childhood as it is called was launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.
Dow who pleaded guilty to all the charges leveled against him is now due for sentencing on September 29, 2020.
Investigations into Dow’s crime in Kenya were carried out by FBI’s Philadelphia Field Office with support from Kenyan authorities.
