Nigerians have been expressing anger at the decision of their President Muhammadu Buhari to approve a new portrait for public use.
Buhari’s aide on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, on Twitter announced the approval of the new portrait.
The approved portrait according to Ahmad is “for display in all public offices, buildings and for other legitimate purposes.”
He adds that “All ministries, departments, agencies of government, Sub-National Entities, businesses and the public are enjoined to obtain soft copy of the portrait.”

In many countries portraits of Presidents are placed in official public offices and buildings.
It often reminds people of who is the head of state during a period of time.
Outrage from Nigerians
But Nigerians seem outraged at the decision to approve new official portraits considering that a misplaced priority.
