Sierra Leoneans have been thrown into a state of shock after a sex-worker was brutally murdered in the capital Freetown.

Memuna Jabbie whose body was found naked in a mangrove swamp in western Freetown had her throat slit.

Local media reported that Jabbie’s death was only made public on Monday although she went missing days ago.

She was reportedly helping an ongoing murder trial involving her best friend, Hannah Bockarie another sex worker.

Bockarie was abducted four years ago and rapped by an unknown gang of men.

He body was found on the Lumley Beach, the same place Jabbie’s body was dumped.

Jabbie who was reportedly with her friend Bockarie when she was abducted has been testifying for some time now in that murder trial.

BBC reported that Jabbie’s sister, Salamatu was detained initially for not speaking about the 2015 abduction and murder of her friend.

Salamatu had revealed that her sister Memuna had concerns about her safety hence her hesitant in giving evidence.
