Another deadly tropical storm Cyclone Kenneth on Thursday battered Comoros and Mozambique destroying homes and displacing people.
In Comoros, authorities said at least three people were killed from the cyclone which later made a landfall in Mozambique.
The storm also caused widespread power outages in Grande Comore, and the capital Moroni as well as on the island of Anjouan.
Mozambique is already recovery from another deadly cyclone Idai which has led to hundreds of deaths.
According to Mozambique’s National Institute of Disaster Management (INGC), 30,000 people were evacuated from areas likely to be hit.
But Cyclone Kenneth was able to cause widespread damage to homes in Pemba city in northern Mozambique.
In Tanzania, there are fears the storm would make a landfall, forcing people to flee some areas.
For instance marine transport between mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar island has been halted.
Meanwhile there are are reports Cyclone Kenneth has weakened and the winds are dying down. But heavy rains are forecast for the next four days in north-eastern Mozambique.

Dipuo Tawana, forecaster at the South African Weather Service told Reuters that “The rainfall that we forecast for the next four days in the northeastern part of Mozambique – we have between 500 and 1,000 millimetres (19.5 to 39 inches) of rain,”
Authorities in Mozambique fear due to heavy rains some major rivers as well as coastal waterways could overflow.
Over 680,000 people are now at risk from the storm and have been told to move out.
