There is heightened tension in Nigeria’s Kaduna state following the gruesome murder of a monarch in the southern part of the state.

The paramount ruler of the Adara Chiefdom, Dr. Maiwada Galadima was killed by suspected kidnappers on Friday.

Local media reports that he was kidnapped by some gunmen before Friday while returning to his palace from town.

Galadima was returning from a violent scene in the town of Kasuwan Magani where Muslim and Christian youths had clashed.

His mutilated body according to the PUNCH was dumped on the road.

Members of Galadima’s security details were also killed, but his wife was released by the kidnappers.

The kidnappers received a ransom for the release of the traditional ruler, but killed him.
