Zimbabwe’s President, Emmerson Mnangagwa on Tuesday called for support in fighting the Cholera crisis facing his country.
The country last month started a mass vaccination exercise against the disease which has killed over 40 people and infected thousands.
Zimbabwe’s government has said that it needs $35 million to fight the current outbreak. It is the worst to hit the country in a decade.
Some 1.4 million are expected to be vaccinated in the most densely populated areas.
On Tuesday Mr. Mnangagwa shared a picture of himself taking his Cholera vaccine. He called on Zimbabweans to “work together towards a healthy Zimbabwe”.
There is no bad time to get your cholera vaccine, even during a cabinet meeting!
We have embarked on a vaccination drive to help protect our communities from this disease, & we encourage those in high density areas to get vaccinated.

The government has said that there has been much progress with no deaths recorded in recent days.
In 2008 Zimbabwe suffered its biggest cholera outbreak. Over 4,000 people died from that outbreak.
