Nigerian Army officials say six soldiers have been injured in the latest Boko Haram attack in Borno state.
The ambush attack on Friday took place at Arege area of the Borno state. The Nigerian Army said its soldiers were repelling the attack by the insurgents.
In a statement the Army spokesperson, Brig.-Gen. Texas Chukwu, said on Saturday that many of the insurgents were neutralised.
He said some of them also escaped, sustaining various degrees of injury during gun shot exchange.
“Unfortunately, six soldiers sustained various degrees of injury and are currently receiving medical attention at the military facility.
“The public is once again reminded to report any suspicious movements or activities in their areas to the law enforcement agents for prompt action,’’ Chukwu said in the statement.
