Ugandan lawmaker, Robert Kyagulanyi has now been allowed to travel abroad for medical treatment.
The pop star turned MP has been sick since his arrest and detention last month.
He was arrested and detained for allegedly playing a role in an attack on the country’s President, Yoweri Museveni.
Museveni’s convoy was reportedly attacked while returning from a campaign rally last month.
After spending days in detention, Bobi Wine’s lawyers said he was tortured rendering him seriously sick.
On Thursday night he was stopped from flying out of the country to seek medical treatment abroad. Police arrested him at Kampala’s international airport.
This sparked protests in Kampala on Friday and police now say he has been cleared to fly out of the country for specialised treatment.

Kidney problem
On Wednesday Bobi Wine’s lawyers told The Associated Press that a medical report revealed that the MP has serious kidney problem that needs urgent medical attention abroad.
One of his lawyers Medard Sseggona said that soldiers “squeezed his (Bobi Wine) manhood,” while in detention. “He was suffering pain in the hips” he adds.
There have been calls for investigations and punishment for the soldiers who abused Bobi Wine and other suspects brutalized while in detention.
The Musician MP
Robert Kyagulanyi is a Ugandan celebrated Afrobeats star. He began his music career in the early 2000s and has been singing projecting various issues of national concern.
He has produced songs on issues such as freedom of speech and personal hygiene.
Bobi Wine was elected to parliament as an independent in a by-election in 2017 in Kyadondo East, central Uganda.
He calls himself the “ghetto president” since he stands up for the rights of the underprivileged.
