Based on current rate of outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in Democratic Republic of Congo, the World Health Organization has said that it is assuming a potential 100-300 cases of the disease over a three-month period.
The latest prediction was made following a revision of strategic response plan by the global body in a new publication on Tuesday.
The potential trend which is based on information as of May 15 could also be revised to possible 80-100 cases in an earlier version of the plan.
DR Congo Health Ministry has so far recorded 54 cases of Ebola with 35 confirmed, 13 probable and six suspected cases.
Although no new cases have been recorded so far in the past two days 25 deaths have now been confirmed from the disease.
Last week Ebola patients have been reported to have escaped quarantine in the Congo river port city of Mbandaka with two of those patients dieing later.
The Congolese government is hoping to receive some 300,000 doses of vaccine in the coming days from its partners for effective containment of the virus.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has assured that the current Ebola outbreak can be brought under control, allaying any fears of it becoming a global crisis.
