The Zanu-PF youth activist who led a major heckling of Grace Mugabe, the former first lady of Zimbabwe has reportedly died from a car crash.

The Zanu-PF youth leader Magura Charumbira, made headlines in November last year after he booed former Grace Mugabe at a rally in Bulawayo.

The party has confirmed the incident in a tweet.

New Zimbabwe.com has reported that Charumbira’s death was confirmed on Monday morning by officials “after his car crashed into a stationary lorry along the Harare-Bulawayo road near Norton”.

Charumbira is reported by Chronicle to be heading to Zimbabwe’s capital Harare when the crash occurred.

Charumbira’s action in November led to a major shake-up in opposition to Grace Mugabe who at the time was seen to be aspiring to take over from his husband.

Shortly after the heckling incident, President Mugabe who was angered by the incident accused Emmerson Mnangagwa of sponsoring the hecklers and sacked him.

It triggered reaction from the military who took over in a special operation leading to the resignation of Mugabe and the eventually inauguration of Emmerson Mnangagwa as President.
