Ghana and Qatar have signed four economic development partnership agreements focusing on the aviation industry and youth and sports development in the West African nation.
Ghana’s president Akufo Addo and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani supervised the signing of the 2 agreements and 2 Memoranda of Understanding after holding bilateral talks at the Peduase Lodge in the Eastern Region.
In all, two agreements and two Memoranda of Understanding were signed between Ghana and Qatar;
1. Investment Promotion and Protection Agreements. Shirley Ayokor, the Minister for Foreign Affairs signed on behalf of Ghana and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdul Raman, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs signed on behalf of Qatar.
2.Air Service Agreement. Cecilia Dapaah, the Minister for Aviation signed for Ghana and Jasim Bin Seif Al- Sulati, Minister for Transport and Communications signed for Qatar.
3. MOU on Cooperation in the Field of Youth. Isaac Asiamah, the Minister of Youth and Sports signed on behalf of Ghana and Salah Bin Ghanim Al-Ali, Minister for Culture and Sports signed for Qatar.
4. MOU on Cooperation in the Field of Sports . Isaac Asiamah, the Minister of Youth and Sports signed on behalf of Ghana and Salah Bin Ghanim Al-Ali, Minister for Culture and Sports signed for Qatar.
Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has been in Ghana this weekend for a working visit.
