A group of people in Ghana called the drunkards association of Ghana is demanding jobs for its members who are alcohol abusers.
They are holding a crisis meeting in the West African nation to fix issues of lack of jobs among their members.
Their name ‘drunkards’ should suggest that they would drink anything without considering the danger it poses to their health, but these drunkards are also preaching against alcohol abuse.
Leaders of the group have told local media that their members are embarking on a campaign to address issues of dangerous and irresponsible drinking behaviour.
The president of the association, Moses Drybone told local media that their impending conference would lay out major policy guidelines to encourage safe drinking.
The drunkards also accused local manufacturing companies of risking the safety of consumers by producing unwholesome drinks.
The group’s leader said the country’s Food and Drugs Authority have looked on while most of the local alcohol manufactures flout safety regulations in their quest to make abnormal profits at the expense of consumers.
Drybone said 17 members of the Association have reportedly died from the consumption of various concoctions.
Alcohol abuse is a major issue in Ghana resulting in deaths. Diseases such as Hypertension, Kidney damage, Diabetes and Stroke are linked to alcohol abuse.
