Grace Mugabe, former first lady of Zimbabwe has been described by her husband’s family to be disrespectful and a person who created disunity among family members.

Family members of former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe according to a report by Voice of America (VOA) said they cut ties with Grace Mugabe over two years ago because of her attitude.

The Mugabe clan claimed Grace has been “disrespectful to family elders, showing off and sowing seeds of disharmony within the family”.

Ben Matibiri, one of Mugabe’s uncles claimed is quoted to have said that Grace belittled everyone in the Mugabe family “as she tried to borrow powers at every opportunity”.

The Mugabe family said Grace was a complete opposite of Mr. Mugabe’s first wife, the late Sally Hefron Mugabe, considered a “great daughter” to the family.

Grace Mugabe, has reportedly complained about treatment being meted out to her family, businesses and allies since the exit of her husband from power.

Local media The Zimbabwe Independent reported that the former first lady of Zimbabwe made these complaints behind the scene and is yet to be heard speaking about these issues publicly.

Grace Mugabe’s quest to become President and succeeding her husband sparked series of political shake-ups leading to military takeover and eventual resignation of her husband from office.

The wife of Robert Mugabe has been at logger heads with current President Emmerson Mnangagwa and now says since he became president, her businesses are under threat.
