The President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa has revealed names of persons who are going to form his new cabinet. Prominent on that list is the appointment of some military officials for top positions in his cabinet.

The new president has made the general who read out the military takeover message on state TV, Sibusiso Moyo as his new foreign minister.

Also featuring is the head of Zimbabwe’s air force, Perence Shiri who has been named the minister of agriculture and land affairs.

Other cabinet positions were also occupied by leaders of the war veterans’ association with the group’s leader Chris Mutsvangwa, now in charge at the information ministry.

A critic of Mugabe’s regime Tendai Biti has said that the latest appointment has dashed the hopes of Zimbabweans hoping for better future.

Mr Mnangagwa was sworn in as president taking over from his former boss and ally Robert Mugabe who resigned after a military takeover.

Mnangagwa promised to do things differently from former President Mugabe who has been in the helm of affairs of Zimbabwe politics for 37 years.
