Four people have appeared in court on Friday after they were arrested for booing the first lady of Zimbabwean Grace Mugabe last Saturday.
The four persons are reported by local media Herald newspaper of facing the charge of undermining the authority of the president.
Mrs. Mugabe’s speech to party supporters on Saturday in Harare was disrupted by some members of the Zanu-PF, an act that got President Robert Mugabe furious.
Mugabe, 93 is said to have sacked his vice president Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa because of the booing of Grace Mugabe with signals that the disruption was carried out by 34 year old man Magura Magura Charumbira who supports the dismissed vice president.
The court heard that the accused allegedly sang and made hand gestures during Grace Mugabe’s speech at the rally.
Lawyer for three men and a woman from Bulawayo, Tanaka Muganyi is quoted as saying that “What the State has pushed for are speculative thoughts. They are no solid reasons to suggest the accused might abscond court. The four are willing to agree to a condition that they should not attend any interface rally in future.”
