The richest man in Africa, Aliko Dangote who also supports English Football club, Arsenal has announced that he is planning to buying the club and his first decision would be to sack the current manager, Arsene Wenger.
He told Bloomberg that ‘The first thing I would change is the coach. He has done a good job, but someone else should also try his luck.’
Dangote has for a very long time expressed desire to take over the London based club but is yet to make strides.
The Nigerian billionaire has failed to buy Arsenal because current owner Stan Kroenke has said he has no plans to sell.
Kroenke owns 67 per cent of Arsenal with Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov in control of a 30 per cent stake.
Dangote who is 60-years-old has promised to bid to buy the club following the construction of an £8.5billion oil refinery in Lagos.
Africa’s richest man who has several businesses is worth £10bn and is very hopeful he can get the current owners a good deal to hand over the club to him.
“If they get the right offer, I’m sure they would walk away. Someone will give them an offer that will make them seriously consider walking away,” he said.
Dangote also said “when we finish the refinery, I think we will be in a position to do that (buying the football club).’
