A 27-year-old man has been jailed in Zimbabwe for torturing and raping his former girlfriend for a period of six days.
Kudkwashe Antony Mapwevo according to local media will now spend 23 years in prison for his crime.
The state-owned Chronicle Newspaper reported that the convict had just been released from prison for robbery only to commit this latest crime.
According to local media Mapwevo had kidnapped his ex-girlfriend and without giving her food raped her continuously for days.
The Prosecutor Busani Moyo said Mapwevo’s victim gained her freedom after her grandmother alerted the police about her disappearance.
The convict was described as a terrorist by the court when his jail term was announced.
