Police in Uganda say they have made some arrests in connection with the murder of the country’s deputy inspector general of police, Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
The late Kaweesi was murdered on his way to work on March 17 together with two other police officers in his car.

Local media in Uganda reported that one of the suspects was arrested on Tuesday while trying to escape to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Uganda’s Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura is quoted to have told mourners at the burial of his assistant “We have arrested some people”.
Mr Kayihura added that “In fact, one of them was arrested while trying to run to Congo.”
The two police officers killed along with Kaweesi were buried on March 20, a day before the burial of their boss, Kaweesi on March 21.
Already the country’s president, Yoweri Museveni has ordered the Inspector General of Police to clean the police force of bad elements perpetuating crime.

President Museveni has announced that an amount of $110 million will be invested in installing cameras in Kampala and other areas for better security.
