The number of coronavirus-related deaths recorded around the world has now surpassed the 400,000 mark, according to the John Hopkins University.
Current death toll has reached 400,013 as at June 7, 2020 with infections now approaching seven million.
The United States has suffered more than 109,000 of those deaths, with the United Kingdom, Brazil and Italy behind it in terms of total fatalities.
Infections have also been boosted by the current street protests taking place across the United States and beyond over the death of George Floyd, a blackman in police custody.
Governments are now worried about the crowds trooping to streets for the protest, fearing that could undo previous gains in the fight against the pandemic.
In Africa infections stand at over 176,807 with 4,902 deaths, and 78,267 recoveries.

Governments in Africa though have been easing some restrictions put in place to contain the spread of the virus.
Some countries are reopening schools and places of worship as agitations grow among citizens.
