Police in Ghana on Wednesday questioned a journalist for reportedly predicting correctly the content of the president’s speech.

Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo Addo on Sunday delivered a national televised address over his government’s measures to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.

In that speech he relaxed some restrictions imposed to stop the spread of the virus including reopening places of worships, restaurants and schools.

There have been mixed reactions to the president’s directive as Ghana continues to record high cases of coronavirus.

But prior to Sunday’s speech the journalist, Kofi Adomah who has a huge following predicted many of the contents of the President’s speech in a video.

On Wednesday the journalist who is also director of News at Accra-based radio station Angel 102.9 FM was accompanied by his general manager, Kwadwo Dickson, to the police headquarters in the capital Accra.

Officers at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service were said to have questioned him about his source of information.

Ghana has so far recorded over 8500 cases of Covid-19 with over 2000 persons recovering.
