The Nigerian couple that had their twin babies delivered this month in Lagos state hospital revealed that they had to wait for 43 years.
68-year old woman, Margarett Adenuga who struggled to get pregnant for years successfully delivered twins through an “elective cesarean section at 37 weeks gestation.”
The babies, male and female and their mother are doing well, according to a statement from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.
The hospital said she delivered on April 14 after “the IVF and embryo transfer were done at an outside facility.
She was thereafter referred to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital at early gestation and subsequently managed till term.”
The hospital said this system is the first in “Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria and Africa.”

The husband of a 68-year-old woman told the BBC that it took 43 years and three unsuccessful IVF procedures before conceiving their babies.
Noah Adenuga, 70-years of age revealed that they had to endure the pain and hurt of childlessness for many years.
A group of fertility doctors according to Adenuga called his decision to go through IVF reckless.
