The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced a plan to ban inter-state travels.
It also intends closing down all motor parks as part of measures to curtail the spread of the Coronavirus.
Information Minister, Lai Mohammed disclosed the plans on Thursday, according to Personal Assistant on New Media to Nigeria’s President.
Bashir Ahmaad said on Twitter that “the Federal Government announces plans to ban inter-state travel and possibly close down all motor parks as part of measures to curtail the spread of the #Coronavirus, Information Minister, Lai Mohammed discloses the plans this afternoon.”

Nigeria so far has over 50 active cases of coronavirus, according to health officials.
“Out of the 51 confirmed cases, two have been discharged, while one death has been recorded. Lagos has 32 confirmed cases,” the NCDC wrote on its website.

Nigeria has already closed its borders and restricted some public activities hoping to contain the spread of the virus.
There are indications Nigeria could follow other African countries to announce a lockdown if the spread of the virus continues.
