Nigerian health officials on Monday confirmed the country’s first death from coronavirus.
The case was a 67 year old male who returned home following medical treatment in UK.
According to health officials he had underlying medical conditions including multiple myeloma and diabetes.
He was undergoing chemotherapy before his death after earlier testing positive for the coronavirus.

Nigeria has so far confirmed 36 cases of coronavirus with only two patients making full recovery.
The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control said on Monday alone an additional five cases of the virus were recorded.
The NCDC said it “will not be commenting on the management of individual cases. The management of cases is the responsibility of States and treatment centres and they are doing their best under difficult circumstances.”
