A Ghanaian nurse has been gang raped and killed by her attackers sparking outrage among Ghanaians who are demanding for justice.
According to local media reporting, the 30-year-old nurse was murdered by her unknown attackers at a town called Ayuom near Ghana’s second biggest city, Kumasi.
Ruth Ama Eshun, was last seen leaving her health post in the Bosomtwe District on February 3, 2020.
Her lifeless body was however discovered the next day at about 100 meters from her home.
Police in Ghana say they are investigating the incident and have not yet provided further details.
The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives’ Association, a group the late nurse belongs to described the incident as an “inhumane” act.
The group said in a statement that police in Ghana must “investigate this matter with the urgency it deserves and bring the perpetrators to book”.
It added that the government must “ensure the safety of Nurses and Midwives working in all parts of the country especially the hard to reach areas.”

On social media Ghanaians have been joining a campaign to push for justice for the murdered nurse.
