Ghanaian officials have said that tests conducted on two persons suspected of deadly Coronavirus turned negative.
That means the West African nation does not have the outbreak of the virus yet just like other African countries.
On Wednesday news broke of two foreigners walking into Ghana’s premier health facility with symptoms similar to the virus.
A Chinese and an Argentine who have been staying together in Accra for some days now reported to the Korle Bu Teaching hospital.
Blood samples of the two were taken to the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research for testing.
The results of the samples however turned out to be negative, according to officials.
The two foreigners were quarantined at the facility but would now be allowed back into the community.
One person was also recently isolated at the Kotoka International Airport after showing symptoms of the virus.
The person was kept in isolation for about six hours but the tests that were ran on him were also negative.
Coronavirus has claimed more than 500 lives in China and almost 100 outside of China.
Thousands of cases have been recorded across the world.
The World Health Organization has already declared Coronavirus a global emergency as outbreak continues to spread outside China.
Victims often suffer from respiratory illness and this new strain of coronavirus was not previously identified in humans.
