Thirty-four people have been killed in a deadly motor accident on Tuesday in the central part of Ghana.
Police have confirmed the incident, adding that several others sustained injuries and are fighting for their lives at health facilities.
29 people reportedly died on the spot while five others died at the hospital in an accident that happened at on the Cape Coast-Takoradi Highway.
Eyewitnesses told local media that both drivers of the vehicles that were involved in the accident died instantly.

The two Yutong buses with passengers were involved in a head-on collision on the Dompoase Junction near Komenda Junction, according to local media.
Joy FM reported that one of the Yutong buses travelling from Accra to the Western part of the country tried to overtake a vehicle in front of it.
Not able to overtake, the vehicle ended up running into another Yutong bus traveling towards Accra.
Ghana has a history of several deadly accidents with very little being done to curb such disasters.
In recent past the country lost many prominent personalities through road crashes with citizens complaining about the poor state of roads across the country.
In 2018, Ghana’s government announced it would be investing some $75 million (GHC 335 million) yearly in various projects aimed at curbing the rising road crashes in the West African nation.
