The membership of the Ghana Football Association Congress on Thursday approved and adopted new Statutes at an extra ordinary congress held in the capital Accra.
The statutes were proposed by a normalization committee that was put in place following the suspension of the Football association over corruption allegations involving its former President, Kwesi Nyantekyi.
The adopted statutes did not go without resistance and counter Proposals.
The new statutes will have 120 delegates with 12 executive council members.
The new Executive council will be composed of 5 premier league representatives, 3 representatives from the first division, with the regional football Associations (RFAs) having 2 members.

The remaining position will be given to the president of the Association, and a Women representative.
The Congress will now be composed of 32 delegates from the premier league clubs, 48 from division one, 20 from the RFA’s, and the constituent bodies taking the rest.
With the adoption of this new statutes interested candidates can now start campaigning to be elected as new GFA president.

FIFA in September 2018, instituted a normalization committee to steer the affairs of the Football Association following the premiering of the number 12 expose by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas which captured several FA officials and referees on tape taking bribes.
