The much anticipated album by award winning singer Beyoncé was released on Friday.

Beyoncé featured some African artistes on her latest album called “The Lion King: The Gift.”

Some of the African musicians include Wizkid, Burna Boy, Mr. Eazi, Yemi Alade, Tekno, Tiwa Savage, Shatta Wale, Busiswa and Moonchild Sanelly.

One of the songs on the album featured words in Swahili, a language widely spoken in parts of Eastern Africa.

The album was produced for Disney’s new version of the Lion King. The album is “steeped in the sounds of Africa”, according to the film company.

Beyounce has said in an interview that The Lion King Soundtrack is “a love letter to Africa.”

“This is sonic cinema,” said Beyoncé who also added that “This is a new experience of storytelling.

I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film. It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound.”
