A funeral was held on Friday for the Ghanaian investigative journalist who was murdered by unknown assailants on Wednesday night.
The investigator, Ahmed Hussein-Suale was killed by the gunmen on his way home from work.
He was shot three times, twice in the chest and another in the neck in his car in the capital Accra.
Ahmed Hussein-Suale worked with ace investigative Ghanaian journalist Anas Aremeyaw on the recent expose’ on corruption in Ghana football.
Ghanaians reacted angrily to the killing of the undercover journalist and called for justice for him.
Family members, friends and journalists attended his funeral and burial ceremony on Friday. Muslim prayers were also said for him at a mosque in Accra.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding his killing. Family and friends are hoping that investigation can be swift and comprehensive.
Any prime suspect?
Ahmed Hussein-Suale’s killing comes months after his picture was brandished on National Television by a Member of Parliament of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The MP, Kennedy Agyapong further called on the public to attack the investigator and that he would take responsibility for that.

The MP has however denied playing a role in his killing. He told local media Neat FM that Ahmed Hussein-Suale “has not offended me in any way. I told my staff not to allow him into my building again because he is a bad boy and that If he comes around, they should beat him up because he will come and secretly set cameras in the building.”
Agyapong also said the murdered journalist “is not relevant to my life. This boy is irrelevant to my life. Why would I be stupid and order people to kill him looking at how far God has brought me?
He has not offended me in anyway. They should look for those who may be behind this heinous act. This is just cheap propaganda.”

Protection for journalists
Journalists in Ghana continue to come under attacks and threats for their work.
In some instances they have suffered attacks from security officials who are supposed to protect them.
The leadership of Ghana’s Journalists Association is calling for effective investigation so perpetrators of the act can be brought to book.
