A South African man working as a paramedic has died trying to rescue an injured man on a mountain in the United Arab Emirates.
The man identified as Mark Roxburgh died together with three other paramedics from UAE when their helicopter crashed.
They were trying to rescue the injured man in Ras al-Khaimah in the north eastern region of the United Arab Emirates.
The rescue effort was being carried out on Saturday, with the intention of airlifting an injured man from Jebel Jais – the UAE’s highest mountain.
Associated Press reports that before the helicopter could reach the injured man, it crashed and burst into flames.
