Nigerian officials have reviewed a 24-hour curfew imposed on the Kaduna state on Friday following the murder of a traditional ruler.
The paramount ruler of the Adara Chiefdom, Dr. Maiwada Galadima was killed by suspected kidnappers on Friday.
He was kidnapped by some gunmen before Friday while returning to his palace from town.
Galadima was returning from a violent scene in the town of Kasuwan Magani where Muslim and Christian youths had clashed.
His mutilated body according to the PUNCH was dumped on the road. Members of Galadima’s security details were also killed, but his wife was released by the kidnappers.
The kidnappers received a ransom for the release of the traditional ruler, but killed him.
Due to heightened tension a curfew was imposed on the state. Local media reports on Monday that the curfew has been reviewed.
The revised curfew would now commence from dusk to dawn (5pm to 6am local time) instead of 24 hours.
It is expected that the latest review of the curfew will restore normal activities to the Nigerian state.
