Ghana’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP ) projection for this year has been revised downwards from 6.8 percent to 6.3 percent.
This is contained in the latest World Economic Outlook Report on World Economy and Financial Surveys.
The report was released by the International Monetary Fund.
The report also reveals that Ghana’s current account position will however remain negative though lower than before.
The Fund is now projecting a current account of -4.1 per cent of GDP in 2018, -4.0 per cent of GDP next year and-3.6 per cent of GDP.
It says economic growth will however be higher at 7.6 per cent GDP in 2019.
But this figure will gradually dip to about 5.1 per cent GDP by 2023.
The International Monetary Fund in April 2015 approved a three year programme for Ghana worth 918 million dollars.
The programme was extended for another year.
The extension is aimed at putting the economy of Ghana back on track after some economic turmoil.
