A top Kenyan journalist, Jacque Maribe is facing prosecution for murder. Maribe and her fiancé Joseph Irungu are to be charged next week after appearing in court on Tuesday.
They are both to remain in custody until next Monday while she undergoes mental assessment over the case.
Ms. Maribe who is a news anchor with Citizen Television is facing prosecution for the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
Kimani’s body was discovered in a bathtub on September 19. Her throat was slit and her hands tied behind her back.
Kenyan prosecutors say they have a strong case to charge Maribe and Irungu. Mr. Irungu was said to have been at the home of the deceased on the night of the murder.
Mr. Irungu is also reported by the police to have driven Ms Maribe’s car to the deceased’s residence.
The case has attracted a lot of attention because of Maribe.
