Rescuers in Tanzania on Saturday rescued a man from the ferry that capsized on Thursday killing more than 200 people.
Officials said the man, an engineer was trapped inside an air pocket within the ferry, two days after the accident.
The overcrowded MV Nyerere ferry capsized on Lake Victoria with officials saying at least 207 people have died so far.
Some other survivors have been sharing their stories. One told Reuters that “The ferry overturned very fast and covered us.
I was lucky that I was able to swim under water not knowing where I was swimming to…while trying to swim to safety, I found a number of metal bars that cut my face and the back of my head.”
Another female survivor revealed that she “was able to jump out of the ferry… That is how I survived.”
Rescue efforts have been continuing on Saturday with officials saying the ferry was loaded with over 400 people.

Arrests over ferry accident
President of Tanzania John Magufuli has ordered the arrest of the management of the ferry.
He ordered arrest on Friday blaming the disaster on “negligence”. He called for the arrest of “all those involved in the management of the ferry”.
Lake Victoria, which is Africa’s largest lake has in the past recorded accidents. In 1996 over 800 people died in a similar disaster.
