Ghana’s Former Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has died on Friday at the age of 67.

The former Vice President is reported by local media to have collapsed during a workout session.
He was rushed to a hospital in the capital Accra only to be confirmed dead upon arrival.
Amissah-Arthur is survived by his wife, Matilda Amissah-Arthur, and two children.
I have learnt with shock and great sadness the sudden death of the former Vice President of the Republic, His Excellency Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur. He has been a longstanding public servant, who discharged his duties with dignity.
May his soul rest in perfect peace. 1/3— Nana Akufo-Addo (@NAkufoAddo) June 29, 2018
How he became Vice President
Amissah-Arthur became Ghana’s Vice President in August 2012 after serving as the country’s central bank Governor from 2009 to 2012.
He was appointed as Vice President after the death of Ghana’s former President, John Evans Atta Mills in 2012.
Then Vice President, John Mahama became President and appointed Amissah-Arthur as his vice.
The two won the 2012 general elections together but lost the 2016 general elections.
Shocking!
No! PK was only last Saturday actively involved in our party’s constituency elections in the Central Region.

The randomness of death makes nonsense of politics and everything else we think is a do-or-die affair. Sincere condolences to the family of former Vice-President Amissah-Arthur.
