Some parents in northern Nigeria have said that more than 100 girls are still missing three days after Boko Haram militants attacked a girls’ boarding school in the Yobe state of Nigeria.
The Nigerian army had said that some of the schoolgirls missing have been rescued.
On Monday members of the group stormed the Government Girls Science Secondary School in Dapchi with locals initially saying that the girls and their teachers fled the attack.
Over 100 of the girls were believed to be missing after they were reported to have been taken away in trucks.
Reuters quoted some parents and a government official as saying that 76 girls had been rescued and at least 13 were still missing.
But some parents have told the AP that at least 100 school girls are still missing. One parent, Bashir Manzo, was reported by the AP as saying that parents have compiled a list of 101 missing children and have presented it to the governor.
School officials have said that there were 710 students at the boarding school run by the state.
Boko Haram has in the past abducted school girls from Chibok which received worldwide condemnation and campaigns for their release. Some of the over 200 Chibok girls kidnapped have been release and rescued.
