Nigerians have been shocked by a revelation from a sales clerk who claimed $100,000 had been swallowed by a snake.

The sales clerk who has been suspended after making this claim to auditors was working with the Nigerian examination board in charge of collection of exam fees.

The clerk, Philomena Chieshe had said that that the said snake ate 36m naira which is the equivalent of $100,000 when she was being questioned by auditors.

The clerk’s claims have been dismissed by her employers who are now investigating the matter.

According to the Punch, the Head of Information for the exams board, Fabian Benjamin, said on Sunday that “She has been suspended and she is going through all other disciplinary procedures while investigation is ongoing on the matter. Her claim was that a snake came into the office and swallowed the N36m proceeds.”

Chieshe said in her statement that a “mystery snake” sneaked into JAMB accounts office and made away with the N36m cash.

On social media there have been reactions from Nigerians.
