For those hoping Zimbabwe would significantly witness a change in all aspects of governance and managing the economy, a former vice president of the country, Joice Mujuru has said that is not happening.
The former ally of Robert Mugabe who was sacked during Mugaba’s era is reported by local media to have said that there has been no change in the southern African country after Mugabe’s exit.
A military takeover forced 93 year old Robert Mugabe to resign last year ending his stay in power for decades.
Mugabe’s exit was greeted by high hopes of major transformation in Zimbabwe and the new president, Emmerson Mnangagwa promised that.
New Zimbabwe.com quoted Mujuru as saying that “The whole regime and its system, they must go, nothing has changed politically, economically and even on dealing with issues of corruption.”
She said for a proper transformation in Zimbabwe, the entire Zanu PF party and its political system was exit power.
Mujuru has formed her own political party and joined forces with other political parties to form a coalition for this year’s presidential election
Zanu-PF has selected Mnangagwa as Mugabe’s replacement and is likely to lead the party into this year’s elections.
