A picture of former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe, has popped up and one viral on social media days after he resigned as leader of the country.
The picture captures Mr. Mugabe sitting together with his wife Grace and some friends of the 93 year old leader.
It is believed that the picture was purportedly taken just before Mr. Mugabe signed his resignation letter on Tuesday, according to News24.
The picture which is the first to come public since his exit shows Mugabe and his wife with some “friends”, including the country’s former reserve bank governor Gideon Gono.
Mr. Mugabe is reported to be residing in the capital, Harare, with his wife.
There have been many reactions to the picture.
The final moment. Before signing his resignation letter, he summoned his real friends, including Gono, once upon a time accused of being Grace’s secret lover.

There is high level of hope for a better economic transformation in Zimbabwe ahead of the inauguration of Emmerson Mnangagwa as the interim president of the country after Robert Mugabe resigned after staying in power for 37 years.
Zimbabwe’s former vice president, Emmerson Mnangagwa, returned to Harare on Wednesday to be sworn in as President after fleeing the country to South Africa when he was sacked by Robert Mugabe.
Mnangagwa told a jubilant supporters of Zanu PF on Wednesday that “The people have spoken. The voice of the people is the voice of God,”
“Today we are witnessing the beginning of a new and unfolding democracy,” He added.
