The victory of Kenya’s President, Uhuru Kenyatta in last month’s repeat presidential election has been challenged at the country’s Supreme Court.
A former Member of Parliament in Kenya on Monday formally filed the petition challenging Mr. Kenyatta’s victory at the top court.
Harun Mwau filed the petition just hours before a Monday deadline set by the constitution expired.
This would be the second time Mr. Kenyatta’s victory at the poll has been challenged this year after the August 8 election results were annulled forcing a repeat poll which was held on October 26.
The October 26 repeat presidential poll was boycotted by the opposition leader, Raila Odinga and his supporters.
The Supreme Court would now have to hear the petition by November 14 and rule on it whether to upholds the result or annul it once more.
Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to be sworn in on Nov. 28.
