He was greeted by his Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who has been acting as president since Mr. Buhari left for medical treatment..

He made no public statement and immediately travelled to the presidential villa.

The president’s spokesman Femi Adesina said in a statement on Saturday that Mr. Buhari will also address Nigerians in a national broadcast on Monday following his return.

The President left Nigeria on May 7 for Britain for medical attention from an ailment his office has not disclosed.

His absence sparked series of protests from some Nigerians who demanded he returned home or resign.

Last week Mr. Buhari announced his readiness to return home saying in a statement that “I feel I could go home, but the doctors are in charge,” signaling that he was awaiting doctors approval to leave London for Nigeria.
