More than one million South Sudanese have fled violence in their country and entered Uganda as refugees according to the UN.

The world body said the current situation requires international support to take care of these refugees.

Already millions of South Sudanese have fled to Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia and parts of eastern Africa for humanitarian support.

Fighting in South Sudan between rebels and government forces has displaced many and seen several atrocities committed.

The country’s President Salva Kiir and rebel leader Riek Machar who was his former vice president have failed to give peace a chance.

Uganda’s has been praised widely for its support to refugees, serving as host to more refugees anywhere in the world.
