Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga has told his supporters to boycott work as he agitates over his election defeat last week.
Mr. Odinga has refused to concede defeat after the country’s election commission declared his rival Uhuru Kenyatta winner of the presidential elections last Friday.
He has accused the ruling party of killing innocent people saying “Jubilee have spilt the blood of innocent people. Tomorrow (Monday) there is no work.”

International observers have given thumps up to the Kenyan elections but Mr. Odinga is challenging the results although his coalition party has ruled out going to court.
Odinga is expected to announce a new strategy on Tuesday after promising to do so as he refuses to yield to pressure to concede defeat.
One of his supporters, James Orengo, told the crowd that “When we people call you to action, peaceful action, don’t stay behind,” signaling a possible demonstration in the coming days.

At least 11 people have been killed by police in a crackdown on protests in the western city of Kisumu and slums surrounding the capital.
The government has blamed the deaths on protesters with a statement saying “The violent protests are unlawful.”
It said “The Police will not tolerate breaches of the peace; instead, they will protect the lives and property of Kenyans; and they will restore law and order.”
