The vote of no-confidence in South Africa’s Jacob Zuma will be taken in secret, according to the national assembly speaker Baleka Mbete.
The country’s Supreme Court had ruled months ago that the national assembly speaker has the option of allowing for secret balloting on the motion.
Opposition political parties in South Africa had pushed for the secret ballot to be taken on the motion which is seeking to have President, exit power.

They argue that many members of the African National Congress (ANC) could be intimidated into voting against the motion if the voting is done publicly.
On Monday, speaker Baleka Mbete told the media that the balloting on the vote of no-confidence motion will be done in secret.
The debate on the motion and subsequent voting will take place on Tuesday.

The Democratic Alliance (DA), Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), African Christian Democratic Party, and some members of the African National Congress (ANC), as well as the South African Communist Party (SACP), have said they will vote against President Zuma.
The ANC leadership has warned lawmakers from the party against voting with the opposition.
