Former president of The Gambia, Yahya Jammeh and his family members will no longer possess Gambian diplomatic passports.
According to the Associated Press, the government of Gambia announced the cancellation of diplomatic passports of 207 people with immediate effect.

Those affected by that decision include Yahya Jammeh who is now in exile in Equatorial Guinea, his wife, two children and other relatives.
The Jammeh family fled to exile in January this year after Adama Barrow won the 2016 presidential elections.

Mr. Jammeh had refused to accept the election results and was forced to flee the West African nation by ECOWAS leaders.
Last month local media reported that former first lady Zainab Jammeh was in Dakar, capital of neighboring Senegal.
There were calls on the Barrow administration to revoke diplomatic passports issued by the Jammeh’s regime.
